Meet Yara, a dedicated and compassionate physiotherapist committed to helping you move better, feel stronger, and live pain-free.
Yara holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology and a Master of Physical Therapy from the University of Saskatchewan. She has developed a strong clinical expertise in assessing and treating neuromusculoskeletal with particular experience in low back pain and sports injuries, as well as supporting women’s health through pelvic floor physiotherapy.
She utilizes a variety of treatment techniques, including active exercises, manual therapy, soft tissue release, and therapeutic modalities. Taking a personalized approach to each patient, Yara tailors every session to meet individual needs and goals. Her primary focus is not only on relieving pain but also on empowering patients with the knowledge and tools to take control of their health.
Yara’s passion for fitness and wellness began early, as she participated in sports like soccer and volleyball. Muriah graduated from the University of Alberta with a Master’s in Physical Therapy and from the University of the Fraser Valley with a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science. She is passionate about helping people learn to overcome their pain and return to meaningful life activities. She uses a mixture of hands-on techniques, education, and therapeutic strengthening exercise to help you achieve your goals. Muriah finds that incorporating an active rehabilitation program with physiotherapy treatment has shown itself to be invaluable in helping people get back to doing what they love.
Muriah loves to work with gym-goers, athletes, and “weekend warriors.” She can help you figure out the best way to modify your workouts around your pain and injuries. She worked as an athletic trainer with the Langley Rams Junior Football Team and Langley Trapper’s Junior B Hockey team in 2019. She is well-versed in weightlifting and strength training and knows how to modify your workouts to work around your pain or injuries.
Muriah is certified in Foundations Health Education Modern Dry Needling Anatomical Neuropathic IMS, Active Soft Tissue Release, and “Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for distressing physical symptoms.” Muriah has also completed Level 1 and Level 2 Pelvic Pelvic Health Solutions Physiotherapy training and can assess and treat individuals with pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic pain conditions, and who are prenatal or post-partum.
